Rockford, IL (February 2, 2020) – Sources report a serious accident occurred at the intersection of North Central Avenue and School Street late in the evening, Sunday. The Rockford Police Department received the call about an accident around 7:00 p.m. Witnesses reported that airbags were deployed in both vehicles involved in the crash.

There are also details released that one vehicle was smoking as a result of the damages sustained in the accident. Injuries were reported as a result of the crash. The number and severity of the injuries have not been confirmed. The RPD and the Rockford Fire and Rescue were on the scene to provide aid to the injured parties and ensure the scene was safe from fire.

It is not clear what caused the crash. The RPD is investigating the details of the accident.
