The coroner’s report indicated that Guerrero suffered head injuries, as well as damage to his chest and abdominal region from the crash and these injuries took his life.
On Thursday, Guerrero was walking along the 3800 block of 11th street when he attempted to cross and was struck by a vehicle. The accident happened at 4:30 a.m. The driver of the car did stay on the scene and cooperate with authorities.
The Rockford Police Department is still investigating the accident.
