Calls started coming into 911 for a request for medical assistance at the accident scene at approximately 5:00 pm on December 17th. Paramedics were dispatched to the location to render aid to the injured parties.
The Rockford Police Department and Fire Rescue Units were also called to assist. There were at least two ambulances called to provide aid to the injured parties and transportation to the local hospital.
At this time, authorities have not identified any of the injured victims or disclosed the nature of the injuries involved. Police have asked the public to avoid the area while they investigated the incident. This crash is still currently being investigated.
