Rockford, IL (April 28, 2020) – The authorities with the Rockford Police Department were called to the scene of a bad accident. The incident was reported to be located on I-39 and 20 in the Northbound lanes near the Magic Waters waterpark.
Traffic was backed up for miles as a result of the accident. Injuries were reported but the severity of the injuries was not confirmed. The RPD and the Rockford Fire and Rescue were on the scene providing treatment for the injured parties. The RPD told the public to avoid the area.
Sources also reported that there was an active construction site near the accident. It is unknown if the construction was a factor in the accident.
The RPD continues to investigate the details of the accident.
