Rockford, IL (April 13, 2020) – According to reports, a fatal accident took place on Saturday night around 8:00 p.m. near the area of Route 84 North.
Two people have died as a result of the crash. Another person was severely injured. Officials said that 50-year-old Robert Robinson of Savana was driving a 2019 Dodge Ram when he lost control of his vehicle. He slid into a ditch and smashed into a tree. When authorities arrived, Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in his car, 56-year-old Paul Yarolem, also of Savanna, died as a result of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene according to Whiteside County Coroner Joe McDonald.
A third individual, 47-year-old Debra S. Robinson of Savanna sustained significant injuries and was transported to the local emergency room for treatment. It is unclear the current status of her injuries.
Detectives with the Rockford Police Department continue to investigate.
