When RPD arrived at the scene they identified the victim as a 52-year-old male who was injured as a result of the crash. He was reported to have sustained a serious head wound and was laying in the road, not moving when RPD arrived at the scene.
The Rockford Fire and Rescue transported the victim to the local hospital for treatment. The man’s injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.
The driver of the car who hit the man was not identified. Police did not say whether or not the driver of the car stayed at the scene.
RPD continues to investigate.
Our thoughts are with the injured party in hopes of a full recovery.
