Rockford, IL (December 7, 2019) – A pedestrian was hit by a car at Y Boulevard and North 2nd Street on Friday night around 8:30 p.m.

The victim was seen lying in the street, not moving. It is unknown if fatal injuries were suffered.

A number of emergency personnel from many jurisdictions arrived at the scene to render aid to the victim and investigate the collision. The Rockford Police Department blocked off the area.

The RPD has not indicated if the driver fled or stayed with the victim. The RPD is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
