Rockford, IL (December 13, 2019) – The Llanitos Auto Repair Building located at 1231 South Main St. caught fire on Thursday afternoon, December 12th. The Rockford Fire Department and the Rockford Police Department blocked off the scene and worked to put out the flames while also helping those who were onsight. Rockford paramedics were also present to help injured parties.

According to authorities, one person suffered injuries and was treated at the scene. Because there were propane tanks in the building the fire crews had to treat the incident as a defensive fire. The fire started shortly after 3:00 p.m. on Thursday and it required significant effort on behalf of the RFD to put out the flames.

It is unknown what lead to the start of the fire. The RPD is still investigating.

Our thoughts are with the injured parties in hopes of a full recovery.
