The cause of the crash is unknown. However, several EMS units, as well as the Rockford Fire Department and the Rockford Police Department, were on the scene to provide aid to the injured parties. It is unclear at this time how many injuries resulted. It was confirmed that there were two pregnant women that were involved in the crash.
The RPD had to block off the area to other motorists while the investigation and cleanup activities were done. The RPD is continuing to investigate the details and cause of the crash and will make that information available once it is known.
Our thoughts are with the injured parties in hopes of a full recovery.
