The Rockford Police Department, Rockford Firefighters, and EMS were on the scene. Extrication was necessary to cut at least one victim from a vehicle.
A car was reported to have collided with a semi-trailer sliding underneath in what is called an underride accident.
Sources say the injuries are life-threatening. It is unclear how the two vehicles collided. The RPD continues to investigate this incident.
