According to the Winnebago County Coroner’s office, the call came in at 2:07 a.m. The Illinois State Police identified the woman as Tanicialle Brown. They explained that Brown was traveling eastbound in a pickup truck when her vehicle ran out of fuel. A FedEx semi that was traveling behind her then collided with her car.
When authorities arrived, Brown was pronounced dead at the scene. Also in the pick-up truck was a four-year-old female who was transported to the hospital. It was reported that the little girl did not have life-threatening injuries. The driver of the FedEx truck received a citation for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
