Rockford, IL (February 5, 2020) – An automobile accident took place around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon. The Incident was reported to have occurred at the intersection of West Jefferson Street and North Rockton Avenue.

One of the victims in the accident required emergency personnel to extricate them from their vehicles. During the collision, a fire hydrant was hit and knocked over.

There were many emergency personnel on the scene with multiple injuries confirmed. It is unknown if any of the injuries were life-threatening.

The identities of the victims have not yet been released. The Rockford Police Department continues to investigate the factors which lead to the crash.
