Rockford, IL (March 01, 2020) – A serious accident took place around 5:15 p.m. on Sunday evening in Rockford. A bicyclist was hit by a vehicle near the 3000 block of North Main Street. The bicyclist was injured as a result of the incident.

The victim was described as a male, approximately 50 years old. He sustained significant head injuries and was reported to be bleeding very heavily.

The Rockford Police Department and the Rockford Fire Department were on the scene to assist the bicyclist and clean the scene. The man was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

It is unknown if the driver who hit the man stayed on the scene. The RPD is still investigating.
