Rockford, IL (March 15, 2020) – An accident between a truck and a Rockford Fire Department ambulance took place during the late evening hours on Saturday. The incident happened at 11:00 p.m near the intersection of East State Street and South Longwood Street.
There were multiple injuries reported but the severity of the injuries has not been released. It is not known if the ambulance involved in the crash was holding a patient. The Rockford Police Department blocked the westbound lanes of traffic as well as the northbound lanes as a result of the crash.
The RPD has not confirmed the cause of the crash. The RPD continues to investigate.
