Madison, WI (April 19, 2020) – An individual lost their life in a crash that took place after midnight on Saturday night. Detectives with the Madison Police Department are investigating the details surrounding the crash.
According to authorities, the incident took place at the 4800 block of Hayes Road. Witnesses to the accident indicated that the driver was speeding and driving recklessly. The driver lost control of their vehicle and hit a semi-truck.
The MPD and EMS rushed to the scene. The driver of the car was seriously injured and was taken to the hospital for treatment. The passenger in the car was not identified by authorities but was pronounced dead on the scene.
The MPD is still investigating and interviewing the driver. There will likely be charges as a result of the crash and death of the passenger.
