The victim was identified as a 35-year-old female from Kingston. She did not lose her life at the scene of the accident, but after being transported to the hospital for treatment, she succumbed to her injuries.
The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office performed her autopsy on Monday, March 2. The coroner concluded that the female victim died of blunt trauma to the head. Her name is being withheld until her next of kin is notified.
The accident that caused the victim’s injuries and eventual loss of life took place at the intersection of Cherry Valley Road and Myelle Road in Franklin Township.
The investigation into the cause of the crash remains under investigation by the JPD.
