Fitchburg, WI (December 8, 2019) – The Fitchburg Police reported to a call for help following an industrial accident at a company in Fitchburg where a man was trapped in manufacturing equipment on late Friday evening, December 6th.

The caller indicated that the victim was unresponsive, not breathing, and was in serious distress. The Fitchburg Police and Fire Department, as well as Fitch-Rona EMS, responded to the scene located at 6061 Basswood Dr. where they pulled the man out from the equipment he was trapped in. Paramedics attempted to resuscitate the unconscious victim but were unable to do so. He died from his injuries at the scene.

The accident took place at a company called Sub-Zero Group on Basswood Drive. The accident occurred when the victim was conducting “routine performance” at approximately 8:14 p.m.

OSHA was called in to investigate this fatal accident which is the standard procedure for all fatal workplace accidents. Representatives from Sub-Zero are also being questioned. The Fitchburg Police Department is still investigating the details of the accident.
