The accident was reported to have taken place near I-39 and I-90 Eastbound at mile marker 160 on Monday afternoon. The crash was initially called in to 911 dispatch at approximately 7:10 pm.
Multiple people were in a vehicle when it crashed through a fence and slammed into a tractor. The crash is said to have involved a vehicle whose driver was possibly suffering from a medical emergency when the crash occurred.
The Rockford Police Department is still investigating what factors lead to the accident.
