Sun Prairie, WI (April 15, 2020) – The pedestrian who was hit and killed crossing West Main Street, near Clarmar Drive was identified by the Dane County Medical Examiner on Wednesday as 46-year-old Julie Ziegler of Sun Prairie.

The incident took place at approximately 9:10 p.m. when Ziegler was hit by a vehicle crossing the road. Authorities arrived at the scene and transported Julie to the hospital where she later died. According to the medical examiner, Ziegler died from the injuries she sustained after being hit, but they are continuing to do testing.

The name of the driver who hit Ziegler has not been released by the police department. The Dane County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team is helping the police analyze the incident. The investigation into the details of the crash remains ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time.
