Beloit, WI (April 7, 2020) – Sources are reporting that a traffic accident with injuries took place at the intersection of East Inman Parkway and Prairie Avenue on Tuesday evening. The incident was reported to have taken place at approximately 7:16 p.m.
During the crash, one vehicle hit a gas line. The gas line began leaking gas into the air as a result of the damage from the collision. Another vehicle rolled over as a result of the accident and pinned an individual in the vehicle.
Authorities with the Sheriff’s Department were on the scene responding to the accident and needed to evacuate everyone from Casey’s gas station to shut it down. The authorities directed other businesses in close proximity to the incident to stay inside until there is confirmation that everything is clear.
At 8:04 p.m. Alliant shut off the gas. The Beloit Fire Department were at the accident scene to assist. The public was advised to stay away from the area as the roads had been blocked off.
The Beloit Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
