Rockford, IL (February 10, 2010) – According to sources, a pedestrian that was using a walking device was hit by a car. Sources report that the incident took place just before 3 p.m. near the intersection of Broadway and 11th Street. Witnesses identified a maroon vehicle as to the car that hit the man who was said to be using a walker for assistance at the time of the accident.

The driver was reported to be a female who, according to witnesses, said she clearly saw the man and did nothing to avoid hitting him. Authorities are questioning the female driver in the maroon car who hit the man. The severity of the man’s injuries has not been reported.

Many individuals were on the scene and witness to the accident. The Rockford Fire Department and the Rockford Police Department were on the scene to block it off and provide aid to the injured man.
