Rockford, IL (January 08, 2020) – At approximately 2:00 p.m. there was an accident that took place at the intersection of South Mulford Road and Newburg Road. The crash resulted in injuries of one or more parties in the crash.

A dark-colored SUV was turning left in the intersection when a dark sedan traveling east in the intersection collided with the SUV. Multiple first responders were on the scene and two ambulances were also called to provide assistance.

The Rockford Police Department has asked the public to avoid the area if possible. Both southbound lanes of South Mulford were blocked during the clean-up and investigation.

The cause of the accident has not been confirmed. The RPD is still investigating.
