According to reports, two vans collided at the intersection of Center Avenue and Johnson Street. The vehicles involved in this crash were described as a maroon Dodge Caravan and the other vehicle was described as a navy blue passenger vehicle.
The force of the impact caused the Dodge minivan to flip over onto its side with the navy passenger car wedged beneath it.
The Janesville Police Department and the Janesville Fire Department, as well as at least one ambulance, came to work the scene. There were serious injuries reported as a result of the crash.
Witnesses say that the accident looked bad. The police closed one lane down and blocked off the scene. They redirected traffic in both directions to another lane.
It was advised to avoid the area of Center Avenue and Johnson Street where the incident took place.
Police are actively investigating the cause of this crash.
